This ten-week course is about exploring the physical properties of the line and the possibilities of constructing tangible objects using linear material with textile construction approaches. Specifically, we will be experimenting with the technique of weaving & interlacing. In this course we will be building our own looms, as well as exploring a variety of linear materials and techniques for working with them to create various forms or three-dimensional drawings.

Key topics will include basic basketry (coiling and plaiting), building your own loom, and an introduction to weaving techniques.
