This ONLINE course will focus on drapery and clothing on the human form. Working with models on Zoom, supplemented by instructor demos and brief lectures, this course will begin with a review of key principles of figure drawing (gesture, mass). The course will look at how fabric behaves on the human form. Key types of folds will be reviewed, and models in a range of different types of clothing and costume will provide ample opportunity to gain more experience and insight into drawing the clothed form. Pose lengths will progress from shorter studies to longer ones, and from simple garments to more complex situations as the term continues.
Note: It is recommended that students have taken the Introduction to Life Drawing course or have equivalent and recent life drawing instruction.
