This 8 week ONLINE figure sculpture course will be focusing on portraits using a step-by-step classical approach.

Students will be working looking on their own face, using a mirror and photographs of their head and face taken from specific angles crucial to determine proportions, structure and likeness.

Looking closely at the anatomy of the head we will learn to simplify its overall bone structure first and then hone individual features into basic forms and then move into more refined planes.

Each facial feature will be broken down into simple stages of mass conception and anatomical form with an emphasis on proportion, planar structure, bony landmarks, muscle groups and points of origin and insertion.

Although this course will be taught online, here could be possibility for those interested to meet on Week 4 and week 8 to meet at the school for one on one feedback and help on your work.

This course is suitable of all levels of sculpture experience.
