• Introduction-Intermediate
  • Sculpture

In this 6 week ONLINE course we will be focusing on sculpting hands, following a step-by-step classical approach, students will develop their sculptural and observational skills.

Students will be able to complete a minimum of two hand studies.

The instructor will go through the process of sculpting two basic hand positions: Open hand position and closed fist position. Students will learn about armature building, materials and tools for sculpting.  They will work from direct observation of their own hands along with photographs of their hand taken from specific angles crucial to determine proportions and structure for sculpting.

Each hand position will be broken down into simple stages of mass conception and anatomical form with an emphasis on proportion, planar structure, bony landmarks, muscle groups and points of origin and insertion.

This course is suitable of all levels of sculpture experience.
