ONLINE: Digital Sculpting with ZBrush: Level 2

This 6-week ONLINE level 2 course will take you to the next step of digital sculpting with ZBrush, the leading digital sculpting application in the industry. Going beyond sculpting the figure and organic subjects, we will be focusing on sculpting hard-surface mechanical objects such as props. We will also cover how to paint directly on your 3D models.

Lessons & demonstrations via Zoom. Students will be following along, doing a series of planned exercises and working on their own project.

Winter 2021: 6 Weeks: Tuition: $275 

TSA will deliver this course using ZOOM. Prior to the course session, you will receive an invitation for the session(s) via email. You'll need a laptop, desktop or tablet, internet connection with good bandwidth and headset (either wired or wireless). A basic computer fluency is required for this course.

Notes: Instructor Florian Jacot is a Toronto based visual artist who teaches ZBrush and Figure Sculpture at TSA (since 2009). He is an instructor of figure sculpture, artistic anatomy, and figurative drawing and painting at Sheridan College, Centennial College and a past instructor at Max the Mutt Animation School and Artist 25 Studio. Jacot works traditionally in fine arts and does freelance work digitally for the film and gaming industries. His work has been exhibited on several occasions in shows and galleries. In 1999, he received an award from The Sculpture Society of Canada for two of his sculptures.

Materials to Bring

Students will need to either lease ZBrush for $40/month or use ZBrush's 4 week free trial period for part of the course.

A Wacom tablet will also be required (approx $120)

Note: TSA has a limited supply of Wacom tablets which may be leased for $25 plus a refundable deposit of $125. They must be returned immediately in working condition after the course is complete.  Please contact us for further information.
