• Absolute Beginners
  • Drawing

This workshop will introduce students to the fundamentals of drawing, including contour, gesture, value, perspective, and composition. It is a step-by-step approach to studying line, form, tone, composition and content. The assignments evolve gradually from simple studies of all drawing elements to more considered compositions, thus developing a synthesis of the eye/hand relationship. Gradually students will learn to employ traditional techniques in experimental ways and emphasis is equally placed on skill and individual style. Media: Pencil, pen, charcoal, conté, ink, newsprint, cartridge paper.
