As producers and consumers in today’s vast image economy, contemporary artists freely adopt and adapt materials from many sources, re-purposing photographic images culled from the internet, magazines, newspapers, advertisements, television, films, personal and public archives, studio walls, and from other works of art.  These are all fair game.  This course will focus on exploring various methods of using acrylic pigments and acrylic mediums to transfer images to paper, canvas, wood panel as well as transparent and painted acrylic skins. Students will consider various contemporary compositional strategies and finishing techniques, as well as looking at artists who use transfers in their work.

12 Weeks: Base Tuition: $495 + Materials Fee: $60* = Total: $555

Notes: A comfortable level of understanding in painting and drawing is recommended.
