NOTES: Instructor Anahita Akhavan is a Toronto-based artist and has been teaching at TSA since summer 2018. Previously, she taught the Fundamentals of Painting and Drawing at the University of Saskatchewan. Akhavan’s practice ranges from figurative abstract painting to collage, drawing and photography. She draws her subject matter from fragments of the human condition: identity; social roles of "the self" in multi-layered constructed surreal spaces. She has been featured in both solo and group exhibitions in Iran and Canada.

NOTES: Instructor Florian Jacot is a Toronto based visual artist who teaches ZBrush and Figure Sculpture at TSA (since 2009). He is an instructor of figure sculpture, artistic anatomy, and figurative drawing and painting at Sheridan College, Centennial College and a past instructor at Max the Mutt Animation School and Artist 25 Studio. Jacot works traditionally in fine arts and does freelance work digitally for the film and gaming industries. His work has been exhibited on several occasions in shows and galleries. NOTES: Instructor Matthew Tarini is an oil painter who’s subject matter consists of cityscapes, still life, landscapes and figurative work. His paintings are inspired by the beauty he sees around him, whether it is an enigmatic expression on a face, a van illuminated by a street light at night or a bouquet of peonies in the summer. Matt has been an instructor at Western University and the University of Alberta and has taught workshops across the country. He has done private and public commissions, including portraits for University of Toronto and Canadian Lesbian and Gay Archives. He has appeared on the television show, Star Portraits and has done both solo and numerous group shows across Canada, including a show at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Calgary. NOTES: Instructor Thomas Hendry, is a Toronto-based artist and has been an instructor at the Toronto School of Art since 1996. His drawings, shown in numerous exhibitions, use the means of traditional art to create contemporary images, images that address the beauty, mystery and complexity embodied in the human form.
