The city is a diverse and complex environment ever-changing with a high level of intensity, ongoing construction and frantic pace. Seldom in this environment do you find a peaceful and less hectic pace other than in our city Parks. These patches of green space provide a grassland and woodland barrier for individuals to escape the impact of our city experience in all aspects. This environmental sanctuary provides the backdrop to open up the imagination of students. These park locations, can be depicted literally, expressively (through metaphorical images), and abstraction. Through discussion, PowerPoint presentation and demos, students will embark on a investigation into interpreting the City Experience. City Experience is suited for beginner and experienced Painters, this course aims to develop observational skills and plein air techniques onsite and in the studio.

Notes: Students will paint outdoors in Toronto parks as well as in the TSA studio. One-hour lunch break included each day.
