This is a Saturday morning 6 week ONLINE course. Composition is the one key transferable skill that all artists, regardless of medium, should master in order to create truly meaningful and relatable work.
With good composition you can tell a story and control the audience's mood, but it's not easy! This course will breakdown composition and all it's intricacies.
This course is appropriate for all artists, regardless of age or skill level. All disciplines are welcome.
We will go over topics such as: what is composition and why it matters; unity with variety; elements of composition and good design; straight lines vs curves; silhouettes; leading lines and contrast, etc. By the end of the course you'll be able to understand why you love certain paintings or photographs as much as you do, why certain movie scenes moved you the way they did. You will be able to create more memorable and impactful artwork, be it a drawing, a photograph, or a painting, using your knowledge of composition.
6 Weeks: Winter 2021: Tuition: $275
