This 6-week course will focus on improving students ability to draw the forms and action of the human figure. Working with models in the studio, supplemented by instructor demos and brief lectures, students will use a variety of drawing exercises to describe the main structures and shapes of the human body.
This course will be taught both ONLINE and IN-PERSON out of the TSA studios in the Winter of 2021.
Students registering in this IN-PERSON version of the course will work in-studio at TSA. Instructor Thomas Hendry will also be teaching up to 12 students ONLINE in conjuction with those students in studio. It is an experimental HYBRID approach which will include a maximum of 5 students in studio. Students who enrol in this in-person version of this course will have the option to shift to online.
It is recommended that students have taken an Introduction to Life Drawing course or have equivalent and recent life drawing instruction.

Notes: Instructor Thomas Hendry, is a Toronto-based artist and has been an instructor at the Toronto School of Art since 1996. His drawings, shown in numerous exhibitions, use the means of traditional art to create contemporary images, images that address the beauty, mystery and complexity embodied in the human form. In addition to teaching at TSA, Thomas is an instructor at Sheridan College and has taught at The Haliburton School of Fine Arts, the AGO Gallery School, through the TDSB and OCAD Outreach Program.
