This class is designed to introduce students to throwing with clay on the pottery wheel. Students will be able to make a number of pieces that can be functional or decorative. A basic understanding of the ceramic process will be covered, from wedging to firing. Skills that will be acquired during the the class will include; clay preparation, wheel throwing basic forms as well as finishing techniques, such as trimming, attaching, decoration and glazing.
10 Weeks: Base Tuition: $422 + Materials Fee: $45 = Total: $467Notes: The $45 materials fee includes a bag of Cone 6 stoneware clay (20 lbs.), all firings, use of glazes and tools on site. Additional bags of clay are available for purchase at TSA (note: all clay used at TSA, must be purchased from TSA).
