Wenyun Hua was born and grew up in Nanjing, China. She obtained a MFA and BFA in Fine Art from Nanjing Normal University and has been making her life as an artist in Canada since 1999.
Her artwork has developed into a form of combination of Asian and Western art styles. Spirituality is an integral part of her work, the black and white ink strokes reflect the underlying Asian art spirit in her art practice; the colour textures and tones applied together with the inks define the extension and transformation of Western art influence. This combination provides her with a variety of techniques in her creative process.
She has had numerous solo and group exhibitions, and received several grants and awards.
Wenyun joins TSA this Fall 2016 term as a Guest Instructor.
