This course is an introduction into the process of sculpting wax as the initial step in creating work for the "lost wax" metal casting process. This process of using "lost wax" is the traditional casting method of creating  jewellery and bronze sculpture of varying scale. Through presentations, individual instruction and technical demonstrations, students will create a series of wax sketches (solid wax, hollow form and medallions) as they investigate the wax mediums possibilities.


Tuition: $335 + Materials fee $70 = Total $405

Notes: Students will have the opportunity to cast their work for an additional cost. This will be discussed in class with the instructor.

Materials to Bring

  • metal modelling tools - a few different shapes
  • Note - if you would like the instructor to purchase these tools on your behalf, you may pay an additional $20. Please let the TSA office know one week prior for this option. Otherwise you may provide your own.
