This ONLINE course is appropriate for anyone looking to make drawings that feel more three dimensional. In our six weeks together, we will learn about the five major forms, how to recognise them in every-day objects, and how to draw them with confidence. Course material will be delivered through lectures, in class drawing demonstrations and optional weekly assignments.

Notes: Instructor Lindsey Rosenow is a Toronto-based Artist who has been teaching in Toronto for the last 6 years.  She has taught film making, stop motion and classical animation, script writing, camera editing and video game design at the Toronto International Film Festival. And at the Animation Portfolio Workshop, topics included Gesture Drawing, Structure Drawing, Anatomy, Character Design, Perspective, Layout Design, Composition, Animation for beginners, and Storyboarding. Currently, Lindsey is working freelance with a focus on design jobs for animation as a layout artist and prop designer.

What you will learn

  • You will learn about the five major forms, how to recognise them in every-day objects, and how to draw them with confidence.

Materials to Bring

  • a sketchbook of your choosing, though no smaller than 8.5 X 11" or a drawing board and newsprint pad (the larger you can work, the better) 
  • a minimum of three coloured pencils: red, blue, and green (Prismacolour Col-Erase Pencils are a preferred brand)
  • graphite pencils: 2B, 4B, 6B
  • a ruler
  • an eraser
