Our curriculum can accommodate students from every skill level, whether you’re an absolute beginner or a more advanced student. Students will strengthen their ability to perceive and translate the visual world into their own artistic expression. Technical skills are strengthened through methods such as direct observation, perspective drawing, working from the model, and experimental mark-making and material use.

NOTES: Instructor Anahita Akhavan is a Toronto-based artist and has been teaching at TSA since the Summer term of 2018. Previously, she taught Fundamentals of Painting and Drawing at the University of Saskatchewan. Akhavan’s practice ranges from figurative abstract painting to collage, drawing and photography. She draws her subject matter from fragments of the human condition: identity, social roles of "the self" in multi-layered constructed surreal spaces. She has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in both Iran and Canada.
